This challenge is open to anyone who would like to participate. You can join in at any point. If you do not have a blog of your own, please feel free to update using the Comments section of this post. I will start a separate page on this blog to track my own progress, and you can feel free to comment there as well. This is intended to be a stress-free challenge, and therefore I am giving a 6 month time frame for completion. The Challenge will be open from January - December 2011. You can list you book choices before the challenge starts, or as you go along.... whatever works best for you.
The goals to complete:
- A Banned Book
- A Book with a Wartime Setting (can be any war)
- A Pulitzer Prize (Fiction) Winner or Runner Up: a list can be found here
- A Children's/Young Adult Classic
- 19th Century Classic
- 20th Century Classic
- A Book you think should be considered a 21st Century Classic
- Re-Read a book from your High School/College Classes
Feel free to use books in this Challenge toward other challenges as well (I know I will be), but please try to choose 8 different books for these goals.
Good Luck to everyone!
Edited to add: as of February 19, 2011 - the Challenge end date has been changed from June 31 to December 31st.

Yay I just signed up and blogged about it. Super excited! Great idea for a challenge.
I have so many classics on my to-read list, this should inspire me to keep digging away at it.
This looks just lovely! Those 52 in a year challenges are too much for my student self, and I'm excited for the different categories. Great challenge!
I look forward to taking part in this Classics challenge. I have so many in my TBR pile and they so often get shoved to the bottom.
Thanks for coming up with it. The different categories really make it interesting.

My first challenge!
This is a good idea. There are lots of classics I've wanted to read but just haven't gotten around to them. A goal and a deadline, and people watching my progress, is just what I need.
what a great idea. I have been working on it already this year so this goes right alway with what I am doing anyway...lots of fun.
Great challenge! I have been wanting to read more classics but just haven't had the time. Now I will make the time!

I cannot wait to get reading for this challenge!!
Oooh, this sounds fun! It will be a great way to read all those books I never seem to get around to.
As an English teacher, I'm excited to do this! Reading is such a pleasure for me; however, sometimes, especially during the school year, I find myself just rereading what I teach and rarely delving into books just for sheer fun and for the prospect of sharing with my students, co-workers, and friends. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is my kind of challenge....I love it! Thank you for hosting this!^_^
I just selected my books for this challenging challenge. Thanks for hosting.

Sounds like fun! And I defiantly need to do it. I probably won't be able to start till after March because of school.
Better late than never :)
This is going to be FUN!!! :D Now that I'm in college, I have less time to read :( , so this is an excellent way for me to start reading regularly again. :)
I've seen this challenge mentioned in a couple places and it sounds like fun. Can't wait to see what everyone chooses!
I'm in! I like how structured the challenge is, and I'm already eagerly picking out the books to suit the different requirements :)
Cool challenge. I'm a big fan of the Classics. Signing up right now >:)
Cold As Heaven
I've started late, but I'm ready. :D
Looks like fun! I'm a bit late to the game, but I've already fulfilled many of the requirements without specifically trying, so why not go the distance!
