Coming up very quickly - April 21st - is Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon! This will be only my second read-a-thon that I have ever participated in, but I really like how the last one went. Yet again, my husband will be gone pretty much all day (school and then the Red Sox/Yankees game at Fenway) so it will be just me and the kids again. I am envisioning me reading through a stack of books while the play around me... inside or outside. I also think we'll be getting pizza delivery for dinner again (can't lose reading time by cooking) and have another of our fun pizza picnics on the living room floor.
In any event, the read-a-thon starts at 8am EST and goes for 24 hours. Check out this website for more information and to sign up!
The next event is June 4th through June 8th - Armchair BEA. This event coincides with BEA and Book Blogger Conference in New York City, but is for those of us (and there are a LOT of us) who can't make the trip. I discovered this event last year and really enjoyed it. Every day has a posting prompt for participants to respond to on their blogs, and there are a TON of giveaways. The schedule has not been posted yet, but I will probably adjust my giveaway of Myra McEntire's TIMEPIECE ARC to be apart of Armchair BEA. I have also signed up to be a volunteer for this year's event and I am very happy about that. Just proves how much I enjoyed Armchair BEA last year! Pay close attention to this website for current information. I should quickly mention that Armchair BEA is not only for book bloggers - authors, publishers and booksellers are also encouraged to participate!
