Just thought I've give you guys a quick heads up as to what I'll be reading and talking about for the next couple of months aka the spring semester. I am taking a class called "Children's Lit and Media Collections" and guess what? I will be reading a LOT for the class. A LOT. Across all genres of children's and middle grade books. In fact, the book list I received at the end of December was 11 pages long, with notes on some weeks to 'read 15 of these' and such. So, while I probably won't talk about every single book I'm reading, I will be talking a lot about children's literature.
I guess this is me apologizing in advance if this isn't your thing. Hopefully I won't completely lose you. You never know, I may find some interesting books that you or the young reader in your life may enjoy!

I think it'll be a good change of pace, I don't think I follow anyone who writes about children's literature. I have a friend whose a children's lit author and illustrator so I read a good bit from her. It'll definitely be interesting to hear your opinions and what you're learning.
WOW that is a lot of reading! In college, I took a Science Fiction & Fantasy class which included some books that would be considered children's literature and it ended up being one of my all-time favorite courses. My husband still thinks I was crazy for taking an English elective (he can't fathom volunteering for more essays and papers when you could just as easily take a math or science class!), but I really do love a good English class! I hope you enjoy it :)
Actually, I'd love the chance to learn more about children's literature, given that it's not a genre I've read much from. So I'll eagerly look forward to your recommendations. :)
WoW! All the best with all that reading! I'll most certainly be looking forward to your comments on children's lit. . There's much of it that I haven't read and actually have marked down to read some time in the next few years. :D
I took a children's lit class when I was in library school and it was a lot of fun -- definitely some great books out there! I hope you have fun with your reading, too.
