Signing up for TWO Readathons!

I love Readathons.  I just do!  I love clearing my schedule and setting aside an entire day with the sole purpose of reading as much as I possibly can.  Or, Maybe keeping my normal schedule, but focusing a little bit more on reading (and tracking my reading) for an entire week.  Coming in January - and right before classes start up again - I'll get to do BOTH of these things, back to back.

Up first is the 2nd Annual Classics Club Readathon on January 4th.  I was unable to participate in the first one as I was away on vacation at the time, so I am super excited to participate this time around!

I have no idea which classic off my list I'll start with, but I can guarantee that it will be one that is on one of my reading challenge lists.  Although, January is also "Shakespeare Month" for the Classics Club, so I may try to work that in too...  I have been eyeing the graphic novel adaptations of some of his works, so I may work that in as well.

This is a 24 hour readathon, so it will start at 8am Saturday and finish at 8am Sunday.  I will absolutely not be reading for 24 hours, but I'll do the best I can.  Actually, I just remembered that I have to work that Saturday, so I'll jump in as soon as I'm home and go from there.

Therefore, Sunday will go one of two ways - I'll either stay in the reading groove or take a little break because on Monday starts the week-long Bout of Books 9.0!
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

This is my third or fourth Bout of Books.  I'm not sure what my stated goals will be - I'll probably just try to read as much as I can off my TBR bookcase.  Classes start the following week, so this will be sort of my last hurrah of reading what I want before focusing on textbooks and academic journal articles.  I will put up a Master Post on Monday, January 6th where I will update my progress all week long.  Reviews already scheduled for that week will be posted as planned.

So join in the fun if you'd like to get a jump start on your reading in 2014 too!
