Semi-Charmed Winter Book Challenge Update #1

This is my first update for the Semi-Charmed Winter Book Challenge - a challenge I entered into a little late, but am trying hard to complete.

I'm going to try very hard to post these updates at the beginning of each month, because it will make a difference for the other participants.  This is a challenge where you are given a list of categories and you need to read a book to fit each.  The categories each have a point value attached to them - and you are shooting for 200 points (or completing each category).  One of the categories is to read a book that another participant has read for this challenge...  hence me doing regular updates.  I also keep track on my Challenges page.

So, how am I doing?  As of right now, I have completed 50 Points.

  • Read a book that has between 100 and 200 pages.   5 points
The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder
  • Read a book with “boy,” “girl,” “man” or “woman” in the title (or the plural of these words).  15 points
The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick
  • Read a nonfiction book and a fiction book on the same subject.  30 points                                                   Dumplin' by Julie Murphy  and Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls by Jes Baker

Other books that I have read in the allowable time period, but haven't assigned a category (yet - if even possible):  Furiously Happy, The Obituary Reader, A Visit From the Goon Squad
